Santa gave ...

Santa gave me a digital camera for Christmas this year. I finally have it uplinked to the computer so I can down load pictures. The camera is a Kodak EasyShare C310, this picture was cropped and digitally enhanced with MCI PhotoSuite 8.1.I tried to darken the background a little but ended up darkening the whole pictureThree miniature horses (ponies) were brought in the place where I work, we were celebrating "western days". One pony even wore tennis shoes on his hoofs.

My daughter loves ponies. We took her for a ride several months ago a the fair. We have some land in a neighboring town, enough land for some horses, but I'm afraid we couldn't afford to keep them. My father had a ranch when I was a kid; he nearly lost everything trying to feed the horses. Well, maybe one day I'll have a horse again. :)If you're able to get a copy of Photoshop, you can more easily darken the background without darkening the entire picture. I don't know how you feel about sharing software, but I could send you a copy of Photoshop to try; if you like it, you can decide what to do from there (buy it or keep using the copy I send). How is Alaska, by the way? I've often thought of moving there. Cold, but man, so beautiful. Do you know anything about teaching primary or secondary school in Alaska?

Not really except it seems to be a marketable profession. There seems to be a big need for special ed. teachers and people willing to teach in isolated areas.

Isolated is nice. My wife teaches K - 5 right now; she used to teach junior high and high school. I haven't taught anywhere but the university, but I'd be willing to give it a try for some fresh air and a view. And I could still write and record out there, so that would be good.

Digital cameras are great! I have Nikon CoolPix and just love it. Between my brother and I, we have 16 horses.
