Today was a to...

Today was a toasty -43F, although the temperatures around town varied. Tomorrow I'll take some pictures of ice fog to post on line.At work the greenhorns were talking about how cold it was today. One of the new nurses was saying "I'm surprised no one called with the cold, in the states everything would shut down".I cracked up and responded, "Nope, when it's 80 degrees and sunny, that's when everyone will call in".Fishing and camping weather don't ya know!Right now the roads are littered with corpses of vehicles. Old Betsy (my ford escort) is 9 years old, Today she was wheezing and groaning in the cold. I don't think she'll make it through another winter without needing some major work. It's just a feeling I have, nothing I can put my finger on. I remember when first bought her, my first new car, seems like yesterday.

Ice fog?... Poor Betsy! I hope she'll be well, soon. Is it just a reaction to the extreme cold?

You know how you open the freezer and a foggy cloud wafts out? That's what it's like, except it lays over town. When the temperature drops to about -20F the water particulates in the air freeze. Car emissions, CO2, and heater exhaust release moisture into the air. When the water hits extremely cold air it freezes into tiny ice crystals.

And I complained because it was overcast and 52F here yesterday. I think I better not visit as I would surely freeze to death.

Lol, only in the winter. Besides, Texas has its own share of extreme weather.
